The Tigertooth Croaker (Otolithes ruber), that known as Mushka or Shourideh in countries around the Persian Gulf, plays an important role in the multispecies commercial fishery in this area. The croaker, also known as Drummer and Jew Fish, comes under the Sciaenidae family. It constitutes 10–12% of the demersal catch of India. It is a well-known edible marine fish found in the both east and west coasts throughout the year. Croaker is a carnivorous species and its diet comprises a wide range of animals, such as small fish, crustaceans, mollusks, and polychaetes.
